The Smart Television Alliance gathers program recommendations from the following nonprofit experts:  

Common Sense Media is a national organization led by concerned parents and individuals with experience in child advocacy, public policy, education, media and entertainment, dedicated to improving the media and entertainment lives of kids and families.

The Parents' Choice Foundation is the nation's oldest nonprofit guide to quality children's media and toys. It searches out and recommends products that help kids grow imaginatively, physically, morally and mentally—fairly priced products that are fun, safe and socially sound.

The Parents Television Council has over one million members across the United States, and works with television producers, broadcasters, networks and sponsors in an effort to stem the flow of harmful and negative messages targeted to children.

The The Coalition for Quality Children's Media: KIDS FIRST! is a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1991 whose mission is to teach children critical viewing skills and to increase the visibility and availability of quality children's media.
